Hello! I'm Laurence from Northumberland, currently living in Newcastle where I'm studying the MA in Urban Design part-time. I also work for a national organisation called Sustrans where I'm leading on a project to install 5 new community centres to support people walking and cycling more in Tyne and Wear. I graduated from Leeds University where I studied Geography (with a focus on politics), and also from King's College London where I did an MSc in Environment and Development. My current focus on Urban Design is a result of both academic and work background coming together so I can develop the necessary skills to work creatively with communities and local authorities to help shape cities that are fit for people and the future.

Other academic interests of mine include international relations, contemporary geo-politics, community/international development, the re-wilding movement in Britain, sustainable land management and permaculture. I also love playing music and going for long walks in the mountains!
